Aspindale Pick n Pay Mall

A retail development wired from the shell up

Delta Africa delivered the electrical installation and lighting fit-out for Aspindale Pick n Pay Mall, a new retail development in Aspindale Park, Harare. Our engineers worked alongside the main contractor from shell-and-core through to final handover, wiring individual retail units for independent testing and commissioning as tenants moved in.

As the mall's structural steelwork and roof went up, our teams ran first-fix cabling and containment ahead of ceiling closure, minimising rework once the shell was closed in. Distribution boards, general power and lighting circuits were then installed and tested unit by unit as each retail space was fitted out, allowing tenants — including a Pick n Pay supermarket — to open on schedule.

Scope of Works

• Electrical design & load assessment — sized for the full retail development ahead of construction.
• First-fix cabling & containment — installed ahead of roof sheeting and ceiling works.
• Distribution boards — supplied and installed for each individual retail unit.
• Lighting design & installation — interior retail lighting and exterior/parking area lighting.
• Testing & commissioning — unit-by-unit testing with compliance certification on handover.
• Site coordination — scheduled around the main contractor and tenant fit-out teams through to handover.

Outcome

The mall was energised and handed over ready for trading, with each unit commissioned individually as tenants completed their fit-outs. Aspindale Pick n Pay Mall is now a fully operational retail centre serving the surrounding Harare community.
